A vibrant, energetic and entertaining Scottish Ceilidh Band

What we do…..

With experience in playing small and intimate venues with just 20 people up to large scale Ceilidhs of 300+ no dance can be too big or small and your always guaranteed to have a full dance floor, sore feet and smiles on your face by the end of the night.

Added Extras

The band play full on Ceilidh sessions or if you think a whole night of Ceilidh will be a bit much, don’t worry we offer a quality Ceilidh Combo option with the same great band and our disco partners

Not Sure how to Ceilidh?

The band have an experienced dance caller so even if you don’t know what you are doing we will make sure you step in line, but remember the whole point of a ceilidh is to have fun!! We also boast our very own unique sets that can only be danced at a Hipflask Ceilidh.

We have no fixed price and work with you to get the best value for money. Experience in Weddings, Birthday Parties, Anniversaries, Corporate Events and fundraising, we will do it all and more importantly we will make sure you have a great night while doing it.

The Music & Dancing

The Band

Derek

Accordion

Derek got his first
Accordion when he was 5 years old and started lessons with Moyra Fraser, it took a while for him to get the bug and played on and off until the age of 13 where he started getting lessons from Alistair Hunter.

He Joined his first band , STORM, at the age of 16 as “apprentice” accordionist where his father was the drummer and played with them for nearly 10 years. The Band work faded away with work and family commitments taking center stage.
Derek handles all bookings for the band so when you email or phone us its him that
will do you a deal.

Alan

Fiddle

Alan he has played the fiddle since he was eight and more recently has taken up playing the guitar.
Alan participates in SCAT and Aberdeen Strathspey & Reel Society attending and playing in many concerts around Scotland.

He does not have too much spare time but when he has Alan is trusted in arranging all the music for the band

Kev

Drums

Kev received his first drum kit when he was 9. He first got on stage and played for a drum and bugle Army band at the age of 11 with his older brother who was in the army and the love for playing Infront of live crowds was born.

As he grew older and travelled the world with the RAF he joined many of the forces bands entertaining the troops where he was stationed.

He has played in a variety of bands including country and Western, pipe bands (playing in Edinburgh tattoo 1999) plus many rock, blues, soul and reggae bands over the years.
